Technical Foundations of Neurofeedback

This book provides a thorough technical foundation of the principles underlying EEG and Neurofeedback. It includes consideration of neurophysiological origins of the EEG, instrumentation and measurement of EEG, signal processing, computer displays and feedback methods, operant conditioning, quantitative EEG (QEEG), and the process of EEG training. It also includes considerations of practical applications, clinical and nonclinical use, and the psychological and operational underpinnings of neurofeedback training. Details are not specific to any particular equipment or but underlie all approaches to EEG measurement and training for neurofeedback. Application areas and current developments are presented with a view toward explicating the technical factors underlying their implementation and use.
