Jerusalem Delivered

Jerusalem Delivered is an epic poem written by Italian poet Torquato Tasso in the late 16th century. The poem tells the story of the First Crusade, specifically the Christian siege of Jerusalem in 1099. The main characters are the Christian knights and their leader Godfrey of Bouillon, as well as the Muslim defenders of the city, led by the warrior princess Clorinda. The poem is divided into twenty cantos and includes elements of romance, chivalry, and supernatural beings such as sorcerers and angels.
