The whiner that is Alexa Moore. When she gets disappointed, angry, sad, mad, or injured, she can't help but cry since she is unable to control her emotions. She despises the constant want to cry and makes an effort to maintain her happiness by avoiding conflict and shocks.
Clyde Wood seems to have no compassion. He appears to be tougher than nails despite the awful, depressing, painful, and annoying conditions. Sure, he smiles a lot of the time, but many people think of him as a cruel jerk who picks on everyone. If not for his attractive appearance, he would definitely hang out with the Gothic kids rather than the popular kids. Along with it, he turned playing into a pastime.
Meeting Clyde was a prescription for catastrophe, and Alexa cried more during that encounter than she had in her whole 17-year life. The year starts out well, gets worse, gets better, and then ends poorly? Will there truly be a rainbow after the storm with all these heartbreaking events?
