Beskrivelse af The Zambesi Expedition
The Zambesi Expedition is a book written by David Livingstone, a famous Scottish explorer, and medical missionary who explored Africa extensively in the 19th century. The book describes his journey along the Zambesi River, which he undertook between 1858 and 1864 in an attempt to open up the interior of Africa to trade and commerce.Livingstone's expedition was a challenging one, with many obstacles to overcome, including hostile tribes, disease, and difficult terrain. However, he persevered, and his efforts helped to establish trade routes and missionary stations throughout the region. The book provides a detailed account of Livingstone's travels, including his encounters with local people, his observations of the natural environment, and his experiences of the hardships and dangers of life in the African wilderness. It also includes numerous illustrations and maps, which help to bring the story to life.Overall, The Zambesi Expedition is a fascinating and important historical document, which provides a unique insight into the life and work of one of the greatest explorers of the 19th century. It is essential reading for anyone interested in the history of Africa, exploration, or the life of David Livingstone. We arrived at Zumbo, at the mouth of the Loangwa, on the 1st of November. The water being scarcely up to the knee, our land party waded this river with ease. A buffalo was shot on an island opposite Pangola's, the ball lodging in the spleen. It was found to have been wounded in the same organ previously, for an iron bullet was imbedded in it, and the wound entirely healed. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
