Beskrivelse af The Evil Guest
The Evil Guest is a classic horror novel written by J. Sheridan Le Fanu, first published in 1895. The story takes place in a remote mansion in the English countryside, where a group of guests gather for a weekend party. Among the guests is a mysterious stranger named Dudley Ruthyn, who seems to have a dark and sinister past.As the weekend progresses, strange and unsettling events begin to occur, including sightings of a ghostly figure and unexplained noises in the night. Dudley's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and disturbing, and it soon becomes clear that he is hiding a terrible secret. As the guests struggle to uncover the truth about Dudley and the evil presence that seems to be haunting the mansion, they find themselves drawn into a web of deceit and danger. The Evil Guest is a chilling and suspenseful tale of horror and mystery, sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.Had he narrowly scrutinised the countenance of the fair Frenchwoman, as she glanced at the direction of that which he had just placed in her hand, he might have seen certain transient, but very unmistakable evidences of excitement and agitation. She quickly concealed the letter, however, and with a sigh, the momentary flush which it had called to her cheek subsided, and she was tranquil as usual. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
