Beskrivelse af The Enchanted April
The Enchanted April is a novel written by Elizabeth Von Arnim that tells the story of four women who embark on a journey to Italy to escape their mundane lives in England. The four women, Lotty, Rose, Mrs. Fisher, and Lady Caroline, all come from different backgrounds and have different reasons for wanting to escape. Lotty, who is married to a workaholic, wants to rekindle her relationship with her husband while Rose, who is unhappily married, wants to find some peace and quiet. Mrs. Fisher, a widow, wants to relive her past and Lady Caroline, a beautiful and wealthy socialite, wants to escape the attention of men. The four women rent a castle in Italy and soon find themselves enchanted by the beauty of the place and the warmth of the people. They begin to explore the area and discover new things about themselves and each other. As they spend more time in Italy, they begin to realize that they have the power to change their lives and find happiness. The Enchanted April is a heartwarming tale about friendship, self-discovery, and the beauty of Italy. And indeed Mr. Briggs seemed very much interested. He wanted to hear all about everything she had been doing from the moment she got there. He asked her if she had seen this, that, and the other in the house, what she liked best, which room she had, if she were comfortable, if Francesca was behaving, if Domenico took care of her, and whether she didn't enjoy using the yellow sitting-roomthe one that got all the sun and looked out towards Genoa. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
