Beskrivelse af The Age Of Reason
The Age of Reason is a book written by Thomas Paine, a political activist and philosopher, in which he argues for the use of reason and rationality in matters of religion and spirituality. The book is divided into two parts, the first of which challenges the authority of the Bible and traditional religious beliefs, while the second presents Paine's own beliefs about God and the universe. Throughout the book, Paine argues that religion should be based on reason and evidence, rather than blind faith and superstition. He also criticizes organized religion for its tendency to promote ignorance and intolerance, and advocates for a more individualistic and personal approach to spirituality. The Age of Reason was controversial when it was first published in the late 18th century, and it continues to be a provocative and influential work in the field of religious and philosophical thought.THESE books, beginning with Genesis and ending with Revelations, (which, by the bye, is a book of riddles that requires a revelation to explain it) are, we are told, the word of God. It is, therefore, proper for us to know who told us so, that we may know what credit to give to the report. The answer to this question is, that nobody can tell, except that we tell one another so.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
