Beskrivelse af Sweet Wattle Creek
1931, Belle's mystery inheritance brings her to Sweet Wattle Creek, where she hopes to unlock the secret of her birth.
Instead she finds a boy she had forgotten and begins to build a new life. Michael, a scarred WW1 pilot, longs to fly again. He knows some of the answers to Belle's questions but he has secrets of his own. Together they provide a home for two young girls, 'travellers' escaping from the city during the Great Depression. But can they find happiness in a town that is turning against them?
1986, Sophie, a recently arrived reporter on the local newspaper, is given an old wedding dress. Who did it belong to? With the help of a researcher, Ian, she attempts to solve the mystery. When the centennial celebrations get under way visitors flock to Sweet Wattle Creek and Sophie is worried someone will recognise her. She knows she cannot give herself away because her past is dangerous, and her son's life depends on her being invisible. And then things go very wrong.
Sweet Wattle Creek gives up its secrets in this tale of strong women separated by time.
Set in Victoria, Sweet Wattle Creek covers three generations of women, Martha and Belle, and Sophie.
