Skandgupth (Hindi)

Bag om Skandgupth (Hindi)

Shankar Prasad was born on 30 January 1890 at Sarai gowardhan, Varanasi. Jaishankar Prasad had his initial education in Varanasi, after which his education was managed at home where he studied Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu and Persian. He was honored with Hindi poet, playwright, novelist and many such titles. He died in Varanasi on 15 November 1937 due to tuberculosis. This play is about politics, bravery and the power to govern. It describes the life span of the last emperor of the Gupta dynasty, king Chandragupta, who was a proud, patriotic ruler. Songs and soliloquy are an intrinsic part of the play, which helps connect the intense tragedy of the ruler's private life with his great success in the public domain.
