Beskrivelse af Herland
Herland is a novel written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, first published in 1915. The story follows three male explorers who stumble upon a hidden society of women living in isolation in a remote region of the world. The women of Herland have created a utopian society without men, where they live in harmony, without war or violence. The novel explores themes of gender roles, feminism, and the role of society in shaping individuals. The male explorers struggle to understand this new world and are forced to confront their own preconceptions about gender and society. Herland is a thought-provoking and insightful novel that challenges traditional notions of gender and society. What I'm trying to show here is that with these women the whole relationship of life counted in a glad, eager growing-up to join the ranks of workers in the line best loved; a deep, tender reverence for one's own mother--too deep for them to speak of freely--and beyond that, the whole, free, wide range of sisterhood, the splendid service of the country, and friendships. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
