Trenton Majest toils in relative obscurity for the San Antonio Generals, giving his all in practice, but seldom making it into a game, unless somebody else gets injured. With limited ice time, there's not much opportunity to play his way into the stat line or the fans' hearts. Pediatric nurse Lauren Chase has long struggled with her weight, and also her confidence. A string of bad experiences has left her wary of relationships, and she's resigned to always being just the bridesmaid or best friend. When mutual friends conspire to play matchmaker, both Trenton and Lauren are wary of what the other expects, but if they open their hearts to the possibilities, can they discover what they don't even know they're looking for?
