The Voltage fed Converter is realized as a stiff voltage source at the input of the voltage source converter. The VFC are popular due to its Operability due to its inherent voltage clamping capability, and its applicability for high power density application. They are buck derived converter and hence requires higher transformer turn ratio to achieve similar voltage gain in comparison to CFC . These features of VFC makes them suitable for high voltage low current applications in EV.
