The research explores the environment of confrontation between the configuration of transcontinental axes, amidst different hegemonic periods of diffusion of technologies and knowledge, encompassing local, regional and international scales throughout its articulation process. Fruit of the first industrial revolution, the railway transportation system represents a symbol of modernity in the 19th century, structured amidst the ideals of articulation between oceans and continents, drastically changing the understanding of the size of the globe. A context that, as of the 1960s, would show new transformations, reflecting the hegemony of the road transportation model, in contrast to the progressive abandonment of obsolete logistics structures from the previous period, driving a new global dynamic. In this context, the Heritage of Mobility would emerge in the midst of restructuring projects, highlighting both the urban landscape, previously consolidated, and the characters responsible for the dispersion of the ideals of mobility/modernity, thus valuing the set of structuring elements of the historic international logistics corridors.

A pesquisa explora o ambiente de confronto entre a configuração de eixos transcontinentais, em meio a diferentes períodos hegemônicos de difusão de tecnologias e conhecimentos, abrangendo escalas locais, regionais e internacionais ao longo de todo seu processo de articulação. Fruto da primeira revolução industrial, o sistema ferroviário de transportes representa um símbolo de modernidade do século XIX, estruturado em meio aos ideais de articulação entre oceanos e continentes, alterando drasticamente a compreensão do tamanho do globo. Um contexto que, a partir da década de 1960, demonstraria novas transformações, reflexo da hegemonia do modelo rodoviário de transportes, em contraste ao progressivo abandono de obsoletas estruturas logísticas do período anterior, impulsionando uma nova dinâmica global. Contexto em que o Patrimônio da Mobilidade emergiria em meio aos projetos de reestruturação, evidenciando tanto a paisagem urbana, anteriormente consolidada, quanto os personagens responsáveis pela dispersão dos ideais de mobilidade/modernidade, valorizando, dessa maneira, o conjunto de elementos estruturadores dos históricos corredores logísticos internacionais.

Die Forschung untersucht das Umfeld der Konfrontation zwischen der Konfiguration der transkontinentalen Achsen inmitten verschiedener hegemonialer Perioden der Verbreitung von Technologien und Wissen, die während des gesamten Artikulationsprozesses lokale, regionale und internationale Maßstäbe umfassen. Als Ergebnis der ersten industriellen Revolution ist das Eisenbahnverkehrssystem ein Symbol der Moderne des 19. Jahrhunderts, das inmitten des Ideals der Verbindung zwischen Ozeanen und Kontinenten aufgebaut wurde und die Vorstellung von der Größe des Globus drastisch veränderte. Ein Kontext, in dem sich ab den 1960er Jahren neue Veränderungen abzeichnen, die die Hegemonie des Straßenverkehrsmodells widerspiegeln, im Gegensatz zur schrittweisen Aufgabe der veralteten Logistikstrukturen der vorangegangenen Periode, die eine neue globale Dynamik vorantreibt. In diesem Zusammenhang würde das Mobilitätserbe inmitten von Umstrukturierungsprojekten entstehen und sowohl die zuvor konsolidierte Stadtlandschaft als auch die für die Verbreitung der Mobilitäts-/Modernitätsideale verantwortlichen Charaktere hervorheben und so die strukturierenden Elemente der historischen internationalen Logistikkorridore aufwerten.
