From the literary genius who penned the classic novels A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Ulysses come the 15 short stories which make up the collection known as Dubliners. The settings include specific locations around Dublin, focusing on the lives of poorer classes, and the book's meticulously plotted chapters progress from stories of youth to mature adulthood. Always conscious of his Irish background, James Joyce wrote this series at a time of great national pride in Ireland, though it would take nine years of submissions to 15 publishers before he saw it in print in 1914.
