Beskrivelse af Dandy Dick
""Dandy Dick"" is a play written by Arthur Wing Pinero and first performed in 1887. The play is set in the late Victorian era and follows the story of the Reverend Richard Winchester, a dandy and vicar of St. James' Church, who is known for his love of horse racing and gambling. When he loses a large sum of money on a horse race, he is forced to turn to his sister for help. However, his sister disapproves of his lifestyle and refuses to help him unless he gives up his love of gambling. As the story unfolds, the audience is taken on a journey of love, betrayal, and redemption as Dandy Dick tries to reconcile his love of gambling with his duties as a vicar. The play is a classic example of Victorian farce and is known for its witty dialogue and humorous plot twists. It has been adapted into several films and has remained popular with audiences for over a century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
