Beskrivelse af A Princess Of Mars
A Princess of Mars is a science fiction novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The story follows John Carter, a former Confederate soldier who is mysteriously transported to Mars, known to its inhabitants as Barsoom. On this planet, he discovers that he has incredible strength and agility due to the lower gravity. He also encounters various alien races and becomes embroiled in their conflicts.Carter soon meets and falls in love with Dejah Thoris, a princess of the city-state of Helium. Together, they face numerous challenges, including battles with rival factions and dangerous creatures. Carter also becomes involved in the politics of Barsoom, as he tries to help Dejah Thoris and her people. The novel is a classic of science fiction and has been praised for its imaginative world-building and exciting action sequences. It was first published in 1912 and has since spawned numerous adaptations and sequels. A Princess of Mars is a must-read for fans of science fiction and adventure.I am a very old man; how old I do not know. Possibly I am a hundred, possibly more; but I cannot tell because I have never aged as other men, nor do I remember any childhood. So far as I can recollect I have always been a man, a man of about thirty. I appear today as I did forty years and more ago, and yet I feel that I cannot go on living forever. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
