Beskrivelse af A Princess Of Mars
A Princess of Mars is a science fiction novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The story is set in the late 1800s and follows the adventures of John Carter, a Confederate veteran who is mysteriously transported to Mars. On this planet, he discovers a new world filled with strange creatures and ancient civilizations. As he explores this new world, John Carter becomes embroiled in a conflict between two Martian races, the red-skinned Tharks and the human-like Heliumites. He also falls in love with Dejah Thoris, a beautiful princess of the Heliumites. The novel is filled with action-packed battles, daring rescues, and thrilling adventures. Burroughs creates a vivid and imaginative world, filled with strange creatures and landscapes. The book is considered a classic of the science fiction genre and has inspired countless adaptations and spin-offs, including the popular John Carter film.I am a very old man; how old I do not know. Possibly I am a hundred, possibly more; but I cannot tell because I have never aged as other men, nor do I remember any childhood. So far as I can recollect I have always been a man, a man of about thirty. I appear today as I did forty years and more ago, and yet I feel that I cannot go on living forever. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
