Beskrivelse af A Gentleman Of France
""A Gentleman of France"" is a historical novel written by Stanley Weyman. The story is set in 16th century France during the reign of King Henry III. The main character is a young man named Henry of Navarre, who is a Protestant and a leader of the Huguenots, a group of French Protestants. Henry is a brave and chivalrous man who is determined to fight for his beliefs and his people. He is also a skilled swordsman and a ladies' man, and his adventures take him from the battlefields of France to the courts of Europe. Along the way, he falls in love with a beautiful woman named Gabrielle, who becomes his loyal companion and helps him in his quest. The novel is full of action, romance, and intrigue, and provides a vivid portrayal of the political and social turmoil of 16th century France.Weyman loved 16th Century France, intrigue and swashbuckling. Some said he was like Dumas, without all the tediuous little bits. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
