Beskrivelse af Windy McPherson's Son (1922)
Windy McPherson's Son is a novel by American author Sherwood Anderson, first published in 1922. The story is set in the fictional town of Coal Creek, Ohio, and follows the life of David McPherson, the son of a successful businessman and politician, Windy McPherson. David is a sensitive and introspective young man who struggles to find his place in the world. He is deeply affected by the death of his mother and the emotional distance of his father, who is more interested in his own political ambitions than in his son's well-being. As David grows up, he becomes increasingly disillusioned with his father's world of politics and business, and begins to question the values and priorities of the society around him. He falls in love with a young woman named Lucy, who shares his sense of alienation and dissatisfaction with the status quo. The novel explores themes of family, identity, and the search for meaning in a rapidly changing world. Anderson's prose is characterized by its psychological depth and vivid portrayal of the inner lives of his characters. Windy McPherson's Son is considered one of Anderson's most significant works, and is widely regarded as a classic of American literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
