Beskrivelse af Wild Eden (1899)
Wild Eden is a novel written by American author George Edward Woodberry and published in 1899. The story takes place in the wilderness of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York and follows the lives of two young lovers, John and Mary, as they navigate the challenges of life in the rugged wilderness. John is a skilled hunter and trapper who lives off the land, while Mary is a city girl who has come to the mountains to escape the pressures of urban life. Despite their different backgrounds, the two fall in love and begin a life together in the wilderness. Their idyllic existence is soon threatened by the arrival of a wealthy businessman who wants to buy up the land and turn it into a hunting preserve. John and Mary must fight to protect their home and way of life against the encroachment of civilization. Wild Eden is a powerful tale of love, perseverance, and the struggle between man and nature. Woodberry's vivid descriptions of the Adirondack wilderness and its inhabitants bring the story to life, and his portrayal of the conflict between traditional ways of life and modern development is still relevant today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
