Beskrivelse af White City Blues
When Mick Jones, a top London Fence and drug pusher is arrested for handling stolen goods, he is offered a plea deal, to frame Geno, one of London's most powerful drug lords, along with full immunity if he gives evidence and helps in an operation to take Geno down. But the police sting goes wrong when Jones turns out to be too dishonest for his own good and double crosses them, stealing both the money and the evidence and absconding to France. With it looking as if Geno will walk, the police have only one hope left and so decide to send an experienced officer to go deep undercover and gain the confidence of one of the two drug mules they had arrested at the sting, a nihilistic young girl named Laurel. So Chuck Gamble, a no nonsense, gruff, macho, lone wolf detective of the old school is given the task to befriend her, to win her confidence and get the girl to testify and then get her to the Old Bailey alive, as once Geno learns of the Police plan, he's hit-men set out to stop her. A hilarious page-turner of a comedy which will make you laugh as well as think, with this clever and witty story filled with pun and pathos and a bunch of funny and loveable characters you will instantly fall for and wish to learn more about.
