Beskrivelse af We're Here Because We're Here
1914.
In the heat of a blistering summer, Europe goes to war, and takes her Empires with her. Everywhere men are quitting their jobs and flocking to join up and serve. Angie Dacres has no intention of being left out, and joins the VAD as a trainee nurse. All too soon she finds herself thrust into a world of horrors. A world unlike anything she has ever known.
Meanwhile, Captain Douglas Dacres - Angie's older brother - leads his Wutonga Lancers into the merciless terrain of German East Africa, to fight a savage war against an invisible enemy. It is a campaign that seems of little interest to the outside world.
As the war progresses, Angie and Douglas will discover a common ground they never believed they could share, as comradeship beyond nations and their own disputes reminds them of who they are.
