Beskrivelse af Watch On The Rhine
""Watch on the Rhine"" is a play written by Lillian Hellman, set in Washington D.C. in 1940. The story revolves around the arrival of a German anti-fascist fighter, Kurt Muller, and his American wife, Sara, and their three children, at the home of Sara's wealthy family. The family is initially thrilled to see them, but tensions arise when a Romanian countess, who is a Nazi sympathizer, arrives and begins to stir up trouble. As the play progresses, secrets are revealed, and the family must come to terms with their own beliefs and loyalties. The play explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the struggle between personal ideals and political realities. It was first performed on Broadway in 1941 and won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
