Beskrivelse af Vertigo Nation
When an American president finds it necessary to declare his losing attempt at reelection a hoax, he may need more than mere moral support from his base to make it stick. That's when the Wolfpack swings into action. The Wolfpack is a dwindling cohort of California-based Neo-Nazis, dedicated to guns, honor, and White Power. These beer-guzzling warriors are proud to pledge their armed support for the president. In between jobs digging holes for septic tanks, etc., the Wolfpack scours the Covid-addled countryside, searching for new and deadlier weapons, the better to perform their mission of protecting the President in the White House, should it come to that. (Stay tuned. Seriously, it's time to start paying attention to the news.)Along the way, the Wolfpack faces gun-buying competition from an unknown entity. Wait, it's the evangelical Christians, pious folk who happen to be on a similar mission. Nazis and 'gelicals alike are reading the same anti-Trump blog, WHAT'S WRONG WITH US, and have come to the same conclusion: Donald Trump is going to need armed assistance staying in office after the 2020 election. The Wolfpack is pleased to merge with the well-funded Christians. Fire up the coals, Betty! We're having a barbecue! Cohesion of the Wolfpack is challenged by FBI informants, an over-sexed wife, an angry girlfriend, and the admittedly petty annoyance caused by the lack of tattoo parlors operating during a pandemic. How is the new guy supposed to get an "88" inked on the back of his neck? (If you're curious, the numbers 88 correspond to the letters HH, which stand for "Heil Hitler!") The action culminates in a violent and protracted attack on an Army convoy transporting Squad Automatic Weapons through the desert in the middle of the night. Things get a lot more complicated than anyone could have anticipated. Although this is not meant to be a full-on comic novel, there are elements of humor dotted about, including over-the-top excerpts of Wolfpack fan fiction written (badly) by an ambitious young skinhead known to the guys as "Scribbler."I should also warn you there is a dizzying amount of bad language in this book. If you're shocked by casual use of the f-word, I strongly suggest you back the eff away from VERTIGO NATION. Keywords: action, crime, Neo-Nazis, Christian evangelicals, Covid-19, Donald Trump, 2020 election. Approx. 62,000 words
