Valley of Tears

Bag om Valley of Tears

In a remote part of Alabama a young couple graduated from high school in 1958 and were married in 1962. Billy and Sarah hoped for a peaceful life in the mountains of Cosco county, Alabama. Their dreams were shattered when Billy had to leave for the Army, leaving his new bride to live with Billy's father. Sarah had no family except her little brother and Billy's father treated Sarah as his own. Billy's father was also the chief drug dealer for this remote part of Alabama. The DEA had been trying to arrest him for years, but could never make anything stick. When he was finally arrested his court date was set and he mysteriously disappeared. Not showing for his court date his bond was being forfeited which included the house Sarah was living in. If they took her house, she and her little brother would have no place to live. Billy's Army checks were not enough to support her without the help of Billy's father. She had to turn to unspeakable acts to support herself. Things she hoped Billy would never find out. If he did she was afraid he would never stay married to her. Billy was thrown into the early days of Vietnam and grew up fast, from being a sweet country boy to a didn't care attitude of kill or be killed. Can their marriage be saved or will they become another incident of a broken life caused by Vietnam.
