Beskrivelse af Unpleasant Pastures
A young marine experiences the horrors of war at a non-combat camp in Vietnam.
--------------------------------------------------------
Charles Feggans grew up in a semipoor family with five brothers and three sisters. Having no insight on his future, two weeks after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. hoping to break poverty's cycle and it worked. After six years of on and off floating around on several different types of Naval Ships, Charles ended up in Vietnam in a camp for 12 Months and 13 days helping to supply combat troops. Soon after leaving the corp, he enrolled in college where he received his Bachelor's Degree. Today, he is leading a life in New Jersey.
What inspired Charles to write this book? The memories of being in Vietnam at that time and not being able to forget the people on and off the camp, living conditions of the natives, the attacks on the camp, weather conditions and those that gave their lives for the service of their country.
