Beskrivelse af Une Vie, St. Anthony and Minuet
""Une Vie"" (A Life) is a novel by French author Guy de Maupassant, first published in 1883. The story follows the life of Jeanne, a young woman from a wealthy family who marries a man she believes to be the love of her life, only to discover his infidelity and the harsh realities of married life. Through Jeanne's experiences, Maupassant explores the themes of love, marriage, and the social constraints placed on women in 19th century France.""St. Anthony"" is a short story by Maupassant, first published in 1883. The story follows a young man named Antoine who becomes obsessed with a beautiful woman named Marie. As his obsession grows, Antoine's mental state becomes increasingly unstable, leading to a shocking and tragic conclusion.""Minuet"" is another short story by Maupassant, first published in 1884. The story follows a wealthy Parisian man named Monsieur de Varnetot who falls in love with a young dancer named Mariette. Despite the social and class differences between them, Monsieur de Varnetot pursues Mariette, leading to a surprising twist in their relationship.Together, these three works by Maupassant offer a glimpse into the complexities of love, marriage, and social norms in 19th century France. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
