Beskrivelse af Turkey Bowman (1920)
Turkey Bowman is a novel written by Homer Croy and first published in 1920. The story follows the life of a young man named Turkey Bowman, who grows up in rural America during the early 20th century. Turkey is a skilled hunter and fisherman, and he spends much of his time in the woods and on the river. Despite his love for the outdoors, Turkey is restless and yearns for something more in life. When World War I breaks out, Turkey enlists in the army and is sent overseas to fight in France. He experiences the horrors of war firsthand and is forever changed by his experiences. When he returns home, Turkey struggles to readjust to civilian life and finds himself alienated from his family and friends. As Turkey tries to find his place in the world, he meets a young woman named Mary and falls in love. Together, they embark on a journey to start a new life, but they soon discover that the world is a harsh and unforgiving place. Turkey Bowman is a poignant and powerful novel that explores themes of war, love, and the struggle to find one's place in the world. Croy's vivid descriptions of the natural world and his honest portrayal of the human experience make this book a timeless classic. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
