Beskrivelse af Tonio, Son of the Sierras
Tonio, Son of the Sierras: A Story of the Apache War is a historical fiction novel written by Charles King in 1906. The story follows Tonio, a young Apache boy who is captured by the US Army during the Apache Wars in the late 1800s. Tonio is taken from his family and brought to a military fort where he is forced to assimilate into American culture. Throughout the novel, Tonio struggles with his identity and the conflict between his Apache heritage and the new life he is forced to adopt. The story also explores the larger themes of the Apache Wars, including the clash of cultures between Native Americans and European settlers, as well as the brutality and violence of war. King's novel provides a vivid and detailed portrayal of life during this tumultuous time in American history, and offers a unique perspective on the Apache Wars through the eyes of a young boy caught in the middle of the conflict. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
