Beskrivelse af The Younger Edda
The Younger Edda, also known as Snorre's Edda or The Prose Edda, is a book written by Snorri Sturluson in 13th century Iceland. It is a collection of myths and legends from Norse mythology, including stories about gods such as Odin, Thor, and Loki, as well as tales of heroes and giants. The book is divided into three parts: Gylfaginning, which tells the creation myth and the story of the gods; Skaldskaparmal, which explains the art of poetry and includes many examples of Norse poetry; and Hattatal, which is a collection of poetic forms. The Younger Edda is an important source for understanding Norse mythology and has influenced literature and popular culture for centuries. This 1879 edition includes an introduction by Rasmus B. Anderson and a translation by I.A. Blackwell. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
