Beskrivelse af The Witch
The Witch is a play written by Thomas Middleton in the early 17th century. The story revolves around a witch named Elizabeth Sawyer, who lives in poverty and is constantly mistreated by her neighbors. She eventually makes a deal with the devil to gain revenge on those who have wronged her, but her actions lead to her downfall. The play explores themes of social injustice, the abuse of power, and the consequences of one's actions. It also features a cast of colorful characters, including a cunning con artist, a corrupt judge, and a young couple in love. The Witch is considered a masterpiece of Jacobean drama and has been adapted for the stage and screen numerous times over the years.HECATE Titty and Tiffin, Suckin and Pidgen, Liard and Robin, White spirits, black spirits, grey spirits, red spirits, Devil-toad, devil-ram, devil-cat, and devil-dam!This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
