Beskrivelse af The Talkative Wig
The Talkative Wig is a children's book written by Eliza Lee Follen. The story follows the adventures of a wig that can talk. The wig belongs to a little girl named Mary, who wears it to a party. During the party, the wig starts talking to the other guests and telling them all sorts of stories. The guests are amazed by the talking wig and soon everyone wants to hear what it has to say. The wig tells stories about animals, fairy tales, and other interesting topics. However, the talking wig gets into trouble when it starts telling secrets about the guests. Mary is embarrassed and tries to stop the wig from talking, but it won't listen. Eventually, the wig learns its lesson and promises to keep Mary's secrets. The Talkative Wig is a fun and entertaining story that teaches children about the importance of keeping secrets and respecting others. One prank which the boys played some years after Jane's death, I must relate, and then I have done. The eldest, whose name was Willie, took me, the evening before thanksgiving day, and, having dressed himself up in some of the cook's dirty old clothes, and hung a basket on his arm, put me over his shoulders, and I went begging of all the neighbors for something to keep thanksgiving with. He disguised his voice by putting cotton wool in his mouth, and I wonder myself how I came to know him. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
