Beskrivelse af The Spirit Has Flown
Denzil Grant is a wounded ex-commando of the elite Special Task Force of Sri Lanka. While working as a journalist at the Vancouver Sun, he is recruited by Russell Doherty, a billionaire businessman and philanthropist as his Personal Assistant and Publicity Manager. Soon after Denzil begins work, Russell's bodyguard is killed. Together with the investigations into this murder, Russell's business empire and the lives of the main characters in the story are brought to light. Problems ailing the business empire magnify when Russell gets threatened with blackmail by a small-time thief. Denzil, in his own inimitable style, infiltrates the ring of vice and corruption. The fairly fast-paced narration takes the reader from terrorist-infested jungles in Sri Lanka, the coca fields of Colombia, the offices of an arms manufacturer in the Far East to the lair of a gangland boss in Hong Kong. Inter-woven within the murders and sheer greed and ambition running through the book is the innocence and beauty of selfless love and compassion. In the nail-biting finale, the hero infiltrates the very nerve-centre of the villain's operations located in a remote South Pacific island. This action-packed twenty-six chapter novel is an absolute must-read and attempts to portray the simple ingredients that go into the making of a subversive mind and the forces that fan the flames for its sustenance.
