Beskrivelse af The Savage Paradise
Inside a barn in a small frontier Florida town, the last fight of the night is close to a conclusion. Andy, a traveling prizefighter throws a punch that ends the fight. On leaving the ring, he discovers he is abandoned by his employer to the fury of the local townsmen who have lost money on the fight's outcome.
Andy is beaten by the locals and imprisoned by a corrupt sheriff and sentenced to a work farm by a magistrate, who works in conjunction with the sheriff to provide labor to a jointly owned work farm. At the farm, he must survive a brutal overseer. He meets Oquilla, a Seminole Indian girl, who is to be the wife of the sheriff. Against all odds, the two fall in love and plan their escape.
Thus begins a saga of encountering dangers from alligators, snakes, panthers, and renegades. All the while, pursued by a relentless tracker hired by the sheriff.
Travel with them on their journey looking for a safe place to call home.
