Beskrivelse af The Prairie V2
The Prairie V2 is a novel written by James Fenimore Cooper, published in 1827. It is the third installment in his Leatherstocking Tales series, which follows the adventures of frontiersman Natty Bumppo, also known as Hawkeye. The story takes place on the American frontier in the early 19th century, and centers around a group of settlers traveling westward across the prairie. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and dangers, including hostile Native American tribes, harsh weather conditions, and conflicts within their own group. The novel explores themes of manifest destiny, cultural clashes, and the struggle for survival in a harsh and unforgiving environment. With vivid descriptions of the landscape and characters, Cooper paints a picture of life on the frontier during a pivotal moment in American history.""Now have we been cheating ourselves with the belief that we had thrown these Tetons from our trail, while here is proof enough that they not only know where we lie, but that they intend to smoke us out, like so many skulking beasts of prey. See; they have lighted the fire around the whole bottom at the same moment, and we are as completely hemmed in by the devils as an island by its waters.""This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
