Beskrivelse af The Outlaw of Torn
The Outlaw of Torn is a historical novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The story takes place in 13th century England during the reign of King Henry III. The novel follows the life of Norman of Torn, a young boy who is kidnapped and raised by a band of outlaws. As he grows older, Norman becomes a skilled fighter and leader of the outlaws. He becomes known as the ""Outlaw of Torn"" and is feared by many in the kingdom. When the king's advisor, de Montfort, tries to take control of the kingdom, Norman is drawn into the conflict. He is torn between his loyalty to his outlaws and his desire to help the rightful king. Along the way, he meets and falls in love with a noblewoman named Bertrade de Montfort, who is also caught up in the conflict. The Outlaw of Torn is a thrilling adventure story filled with action, romance, and political intrigue. It explores themes of loyalty, love, and the struggle for power. Burroughs' vivid descriptions of medieval life and the characters' struggles make for a gripping read.HERE is a story that has lain dormant for seven hundred years. At first it was suppressed by one of the Plantagenet kings of England. Later it was forgotten. I happened to dig it up by accident. The accident being the relationship of my wife's cousin to a certain Father Superior in a very ancient monastery in Europe. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
