Beskrivelse af The Outing of President Obama and the Incorporation of Inequality and Socioeconomic Stagnation
The purpose of this book is to examine how and why President Obama is mischaracterized, the ulterior motive, who is behind this campaign, historical relevance, media complicity and role of race in this matter. There is a legacy of slavery, dehumanization, prejudice or rush to judgment based on derogatory racial stereotypes that are used to define African-Americans, people of color and those of non-European ancestry. Just below the surface, this derogatory perspective is perpetuated to exclude and minimize the accomplishments and leadership of non-whites. As the highest profiled African-American, President Obama is experiencing unprecedented accusations, vitriol and calls for impeachment despite lack of any evidence of "high crimes and misdemeanors." The book argues that neither the Obama administration nor Republicans are addressing effective means to elevate social mobility, fairness and closing the widening income and wealth gap. It explains how the current political debate and proposals best serve the plutocrats/elite donors, as well as facilitate the "hope and change" or "gloom and doom" games played by political leaders and pundits. Strategies and tactics are given to emphasize and heighten the public's responsibility in the creation of a fact-based civility and escalation of political participation rather than its contraction. The role of xenophobia, nativism, racism, and ethnocentrism and self-identity politics is examined in this regard. The "birthers" who infiltrated the ranks of the Tea Party Republicans hold that the birth certificate produced by the state of Hawaii and the President has been falsified. The Right portrays Obama as "Not One of Us" in other ways than allegedly being foreign born. In this book and in their impeachment petition, President Obama is a Muslim, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and a dictator who stole two presidential elections with the help of ACORN. The Right is described as Fox, the rest of the conservative media and its vitriolic pundits, Tea Party and other conservative Republican officeholders, donors and supporters. Groups like Judicial Watch, Heritage Action and ACORN are examined in perspective, whether they affect the outcome of elections and policies. Questions regarding "the rush to judgment" against President Obama that have resulted in online impeachment petitions that could lead to a formal indictment, trial and removal from office if Republicans sweep the 2014 midterm elections and gain majorities in the House and Senate are answered: 1. Has President Obama's tenure received historically unprecedented personal attacks? If so, why? 2. Why is he perceived as a Nazi, Socialist, and Dictator? 3. Is Mr. Obama a true change agent, centrist or corporate pawn? 4. Is President Obama undermining his oath of office and the Constitution? 5. What is the connection between the legacy of slavery, discrimination, dehumanization and quest to impeach the first African-American president despite any factual evidence of "high crimes and misdemeanors?" 6. What is the actual role of race in the quest to remove him from office? 7. Is the nation in a post-racial or New Jim Crow era? 8. What can be done to rebuild civility, common ground and consensus to preserve socioeconomic mobility and democracy? The book thoroughly examines the "Racial Reign of Terror" that preceded "Stand Your Ground Laws" in the Apartheid South. The Days of Terror are perceived through the eyes of African-Americans of the South, particularly among the members of the Spikes family of Georgia. Blacks were subjected to unprecedented lynchings and beatings. In contrast, white Southerners, like the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty, saw those days of racial apartheid as "the good old and happy days" of their childhood when blacks were satisfied with being "mudsills" and "Servants of the Servants of God." "Blacks had no rights which a white man had to respect."
