Beskrivelse af The Night Land
The Night Land is a science fiction and horror novel written by William Hope Hodgson. It was first published in 1912 and is considered to be one of the most influential works in the genre. The story is set in a far-off future where the sun has died and the Earth is shrouded in eternal darkness. The last remaining humans live in a giant pyramid-shaped city called the Last Redoubt, which is constantly under attack by monstrous creatures from the outside world. The protagonist of the story is a man who falls in love with a woman he has never met, but who he believes to be his soulmate. He sets out on a perilous journey through the Night Land, facing unimaginable horrors along the way, in order to find her. The Night Land is a haunting and atmospheric novel that explores themes of love, death, and the ultimate fate of humanity. It is a must-read for fans of science fiction and horror. Now, after that destruction which had come upon the Ten-thousand, and the fresh assurance that was upon us of the terror of the Night Land, it may be known that there could be no more thought to succour. Though, in truth, those Youths that went now upon the Road Where The Silent Ones Walk were far beyond our aid. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
