Beskrivelse af The Monkey's Paw
""The Monkey's Paw"" is a short horror story written by William Wymark Jacobs and published in 1902. It tells the story of a family who comes into possession of a cursed monkey's paw that grants three wishes, but at a terrible price. The story is divided into three scenes, each building upon the previous one to create a sense of mounting dread and horror. In the first scene, the family receives the paw from a friend who warns them of its dangerous power. In the second scene, the father makes a wish for a sum of money, which is granted but at the cost of his son's life. In the final scene, the mother wishes for her son to be brought back to life, but the consequences of the previous wishes lead to a terrifying and gruesome conclusion. ""The Monkey's Paw"" is a classic tale of supernatural horror and the dangers of greed and selfishness. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
