Beskrivelse af The Martyrdom Of Ignatius
""The Martyrdom of Ignatius"" is a tragic play written by John Gambold in the year 1740. The play is a dramatization of the martyrdom of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, who was a bishop and early Christian martyr. The play is set in the Roman Empire and follows the story of Ignatius as he is taken prisoner by the Roman authorities and sentenced to be thrown to the lions in the Colosseum. Throughout the play, Ignatius remains steadfast in his faith and refuses to renounce his beliefs, even in the face of death. The play explores themes of faith, martyrdom, and the struggle between the early Christian church and the Roman Empire. This edition of the play was published in 1782.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
