Beskrivelse af The Man of the Forest
The Man of the Forest is a western novel written by Zane Grey. The story is set in the early 1900s in Arizona and follows the adventures of Milt Dale, a young man who is on a mission to help a young woman named Helen Rayner. Helen's father has been murdered, and she is in danger from the men who killed him. Milt, who is known as the ""Man of the Forest"" because of his wilderness skills, offers to help Helen and sets out to find the killers. Along the way, he meets a group of outlaws who he must outwit and outfight in order to protect Helen and bring her father's killers to justice. The novel is filled with action, suspense, and romance, as Milt and Helen fall in love amidst the dangers of the wild west. The Man of the Forest is a classic western novel that captures the spirit of the American frontier and the rugged individualism of its people.1920. From the master of the western comes a novel full of adventure. The story begins: At sunset hour the forest was still, lonely, sweet with tang of fir and spruce, blazing in gold and red and green; and the man who glided on under the great trees seemed to blend with the colors and, disappearing, to have become a part of the wild woodland. Old Baldy, highest of the White Mountains, stood up round and bare, rimmed bright gold in the last glow of the setting sun. Then, as the fire dropped behind the domed peak, a change, a cold and darkening blight, passed down the black spear-pointed slopes over all that mountain world.
