Beskrivelse af The Love of Warm Water
The story is fiction, but not the manatees. They are a large grazing animal that lives in water in the warm tropics. Their numbers are suffering now, due to loss of habitat and man. Manatees are a calm peaceful species. They have a special beauty and are loved by those people who live near them. Many people feed them or give them a drink of fresh water. The manatees like this very much and they swim to the boats in heavily traveled areas. Many are cut badly or killed by propellers. Interactions between humans and manatees too frequently results in injury to the manatee. PLEASE, LOOK BUT DO NOT TOUCH OR FEED. My prayers go out to out to manatees. I hope they will continue to exist here in a world that is rapidly changing. My favorite charity: Fort Pierce Manatee Observation.
