THE LEGACY OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT

This work is the result of years of research and compilation of images related to the iconography of Alexander the Great. The image and influence of Alexander is so deep and extensive that the materials compiled have been divided in two parts: volume 1 covers the period from the Ancient World to the Renaissance and the beginning of the modern era; and volume 2 starts with the modern times into the contemporary world, all the way to the present day.
This visual journey shows the extraordinary relevance of Alexander¿s legacy since his iconographic model accompanies us throughout the ages and reaches our contemporary times. A study or compilation of these characteristics has never been done before; therefore, it is new and different from what already exists. It covers about twenty-four centuries of art and history, from the life of Alexander to the present. This global approach and complete vision of his historical figure provides and contributes something new in the history of Alexander¿s image.
