Beskrivelse af The Lay Of The Laureate
The Lay of the Laureate: Carmen Nuptiale is a poem written by Robert Southey in 1816. The poem is a celebration of the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Southey was the Poet Laureate of England at the time and was commissioned to write the poem for the occasion. The poem is written in rhymed couplets and is divided into six parts. The first part describes the wedding procession and the arrival of the bride and groom. The second part describes the ceremony itself, including the exchange of vows and the blessing of the couple. The third part is a celebration of the couple's love and the happiness of the occasion. The fourth part is a tribute to the royal family and their role in the history of England. The fifth part is a reflection on the importance of marriage and the responsibilities that come with it. The final part is a prayer for the couple's happiness and a blessing for their future together. The Lay of the Laureate: Carmen Nuptiale is a beautiful and lyrical poem that captures the joy and excitement of a royal wedding. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
