The Importance of Cultural Awareness in English and Arabic. A Challenge for the Translation Process

The paper explores how cultural dimensions influence the translation process, recognizing the challenges posed by differences in social norms, historical references, and societal values between English and Arabic. It stresses the need for translators to not only be proficient in both languages but also possess a deep understanding of the respective cultures. It suggests two main approaches: domestication and foreignization.
