The History of the Holy Grail V1

Bag om The History of the Holy Grail V1

The History of the Holy Grail V1 is a book written by Henry Lovelich that explores the origins and history of the Holy Grail, a legendary object from Arthurian mythology. The book is divided into several chapters that cover different aspects of the Grail's history, including its appearance in medieval literature, its religious significance, and its association with the Knights Templar. Lovelich draws on a variety of sources, including medieval texts, historical records, and legends, to provide a comprehensive account of the Grail's significance throughout history. The book is written in a scholarly style and is aimed at readers with an interest in Arthurian mythology, medieval literature, and religious studies. It is the first volume in a series of books on the Holy Grail.1874. This book contains Volumes I and II of IV. Lovelich's work is from the French prose (AB. 1180-1200 AD) of Sires Robiers De Borron. The legend of the Holy Grail is one of the most enduring in Western European literature and art. The Grail was said to be the cup of the Last Supper and at the Crucifixion to have received blood flowing from Christ's side. It was brought to Britain by Joseph of Arimathea, where it lay hidden for centuries. The search for the vessel became the principal quest of the knights of King Arthur. It was believed to be kept in a mysterious castle surrounded by a wasteland and guarded by a custodian called the Fisher King, who suffered from a wound that would not heal. His recovery and the renewal of the blighted lands depended upon the successful completion of the quest. Equally, the self-realisation of the questing knight was assured by finding the Grail. The magical properties attributed to the Holy Grail have been plausibly traced to the magic vessels of Celtic myth that satisfied the tastes and needs of all who ate and drank from them.
