""The Heir of Linne"" is a novel written by Robert Williams Buchanan and published in 1888. The story revolves around the life of a young man named Ralph, who is the heir to the Linne estate. However, his father, Sir John, has squandered the family fortune and left Ralph with nothing but debts. Ralph is forced to leave his home and travel to London to seek his fortune. Along the way, he meets a variety of colorful characters, including a highwayman, a fortune teller, and a beautiful young woman named Lady Margaret. Ralph falls in love with Lady Margaret, but she is already engaged to another man. Despite this, Ralph continues to pursue her and eventually wins her heart. Along the way, he also manages to restore his family's fortune and regain his rightful place as the heir of Linne.
