Beskrivelse af The Hedge of Thorns (1821)
The Hedge of Thorns is a Christian allegory written by Mary Martha Sherwood in 1821. The story follows a young boy named Harry who disobeys his parents and ventures into a forbidden garden. While there, he becomes entangled in a hedge of thorns and is unable to escape. As he struggles to free himself, he reflects on his disobedience and realizes the error of his ways. Eventually, he is rescued by his father and learns the importance of listening to authority and avoiding temptation. The Hedge of Thorns is a moral tale that teaches children about the consequences of disobedience and the virtues of obedience and repentance. The book is considered a classic of Christian literature and has been widely read and studied for over 200 years. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
