Beskrivelse af The Greylock
The Greylock is a novel written by Georg Ebers. It tells the story of a young man named Hannibal who is sent to the Greylock estate by his uncle to recover from a serious illness. While there, Hannibal becomes involved in a mystery surrounding the estate and its owner, Countess Lenzberg. He discovers that the Countess is being blackmailed by a former lover and sets out to help her. Along the way, Hannibal falls in love with the Countess's daughter, Hilda, and must navigate the complexities of their relationship. The novel is set in Germany in the late 19th century and explores themes of love, loyalty, and honor. The Greylock is a classic work of German literature and is known for its rich descriptions of the landscape and its characters. The knight was no antiquary, but as he looked about him his curiosity was excited: ""What can have happened here?"" he said, and his squire wondered also, and followed his master. The latter led his horse to the edge of the water to let him drink, for though he had seen many watercourses in the land, he had found nothing in them save stones, and boulders, and sand. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
