Beskrivelse af The Four Faces
The Four Faces is a mystery novel written by William Le Queux. The book follows the story of a young woman named Rosalie Le Grange who is on a mission to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of her father. Rosalie's father, a wealthy businessman, was found dead in his office with four different expressions on his face - each representing a different emotion. As Rosalie delves deeper into her investigation, she uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal that involves her own family, as well as her father's business associates. Along the way, she is aided by a detective named Henshaw who becomes her ally in the search for the truth. As the mystery unfolds, Rosalie finds herself in danger and must use all of her wit and resourcefulness to stay alive and bring those responsible for her father's death to justice. The Four Faces is a thrilling tale of murder, intrigue, and suspense that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.The man had been done to death in a peculiarly horrible manner. He had been hit upon the back of the head with some heavy implement--probably a ""jemmy"" the police said when the wound, with the wounds upon the forehead, had been examined beneath a microscope. The theory they held was that some person had crept up unheard behind the victim--as this could easily have been done with snow so thick upon the ground--stunned him with a blow upon the back of the head, and then despatched him outright by blows upon the forehead. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
